Greetings,

A relaxing sunday morning shave.

It's been a while since i last used my Parker 94R ,the hefty weight of this small very effective indian made princess adds to it's wonderful deceiving efficiency which doesn't hold no prisoners when mowing through my face stubble.

I could have easily just done two passes + pick ups, but i carried on for the sheer pleasure of the shave & to use up the wonderful super-lather.

Another enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Nivea Men Creme.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your Sunday Ladies & Gentlemen.

PreShave: Warm to hot water, most from the boiled kettle some from the tap
Cream: OSP Vintage
Brush: Kent BK8
Bowl: My recycled T&H cream bowl
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade Astra Platinum (2)
Post Shave: Alum

Fragrance: Floris 89

Another three-pass, Sunday shave, with the Futur set at 4, 4 and 2.

Have a good bank holiday weekend and stay safe, folks.

Saturday 23rd May

Soap - Palmolive Stick (in bowl)
Brush - YaqI Tuxedo 24mm Marble Handle
Razor - RazoRock Game Changer .84-P
Blade - RapIra Platinum Lux (3)
Post - Superdrug Forest Fresh ASL
EdT - none - (waiting for Amazon delivery)??

Is Palmolive Stick the best performing, cheapest shave soap ever ? - Probably . . . . .
It's slick, glide is excellent, and protection is top notch too. . . . All it's missing is fancy scent.
Forest Fresh ASL is another low budget, top performing product. Ok, the high alcohol content can sting a little if you've been a little heavy handed with your technique, but with a light touch all I get is a tingle.

Wishing you all a healthy and happy Bank Holiday weekend
I love the bowl !

This mornings shave was very much helped along by the enabling Chris @Boycie83. I had enough soap and brushes to last a lifetime, however, when the A&E soaps and a Little Duke 2 went up for sale i willingly obliged, and very glad i did too.
So Up today was the the turn of the "Pamplemousse", i did not even know what a Pamplemousse was, so i was intrigued. I had also been thinking about a badger brush as i do enjoy using the Vintage bristle brushes i have, so that was also jumped on.
When the Brush arrived i completed a test lather after cleaning and loved it, so much so i also now have its bigger brother the Duke 3 in the brush stable, Oh when will it end?
So today's shave, i completed a brush loading of around 20 seconds as this brush is smaller than the Synth used yesterday, not as big a hit of scent from the off, but something familiar, a very nice easy face lather where i got more of a pleasant earthy, herbal note but there is definitely some floral notes in the back ground, all in all very nice, what is it?.
A wonderfully slick, thick chin covering ready for the Vector.
2 passes and a little buffing, the brush holding enough to complete the shave. I could feel the blade going off towards the end so i have banked it.
I had a nice post shave, starting with great post shave slickness from the soap, a quick cold splash and then to the balms, what to use? i still could not put a finger on the floral note, i decided on the Barts B&V and finished with some vintage 4711.
All very nice but not quite a match for the soap.
BBS feeling and smelling good.
It got the better of me and i had to look up what scent was in this soap, as soon as i read the description it twigged, Rose, i thought i did not like rose? well i do now.
The A&E soaps worked well for me as does the D2, thanks again Chris.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

And the theme for this particular shave was 'Greek Gods and American Godesses'

IMG_20200523_210633.jpg

Razonicus - American Godess of heavy duty shaving tools - Stainless Colonial General
Bladus - American Godess (Japanese origin) of sharp things - Kai Captain
Janus - Two faced Greek God who can't decide if he is a Welsh flower or a shaving brush - Yaqi Dandelion
Hecate - God of magic, ghosts and shaving soap apparently - Faena skinos
Athena - Godess of wisdom, war, useful things and probably some not so useful things (tins of shaving foam etc) - Faena aftershave balm

A second date with the Faena and a sexy indulgent performance. An Ahprodites moment. Very impressed by this soap as a shaving medium. The scent is a bit nondescript but then most scented soaps/creams never last much beyond the shave itself, so forgivable. As long as it takes a razor kindly and lasts the ride then I am happy. It does and so I am.

'How green was my valley, how green is my brush?'

The more I use the Yaqi the more I think 'this is what brushes are all about then?' Lathers, brushes, tickles my skin while at it and tickles my fancy which wins the day. How green? Very.

Same photo in glorious technicolour and taken approximately 70 years after the B&W. That is the progress made thanks to Kodakicus the Greek God of photos.

All in all a God of a shave and I couldn't be feeling much smoother if I tried. For those about to shave we salute you.

Oh yes please

To give it all a delightful ending a lovely massage of the matching balm and heaven has arrived at Satan's face. Which is probably a bit of a contradiction in terms.

Be well and safe forum folk and I wish you and your families a healthy and peaceful week ahead.

And you want a video as well? Most obliged to give you some Japanese ladies

24 May 2020 – Sunday morning.
2 days' growth – Braveheart on MÜHLE handle and Stirling Coconut & Lime – brilliant as always.

Prep: Aldi Bath Soap & Nuage Shave Oil
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow 26mm
Razor: Braveheart head on MÜHLE handle
Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum (5)
Soap: Stirling Coconut & Lime – yummy! :)
After: Cold Water splash - Ajanta Alum – Autograph ASB
SOTD.jpg

Pre - GFT Sandalwood skin food
Soap - TOBS Sandalwood
Brush - Traditional Shave Co Brush
Razor - MÜHLE R89
Blade - Wilkinson (7)
Post - Alum followed by moisturiser

Not a great shave. While lathering, the brush slipped and a dropped the brush in the sink loosing some lather. I should've started again TBH. Barely enough left for a 2 pass shave plus touch ups. Still a comfortable shave none the less.
