Todays Shave confirmed my previous views on this Razor, I love its looks and feel during a Shave. However, it is probably too mild for me. as I never quite get that close finish that I get with other ER/Gem SE Razors. Will now only use it occasionally as I need to reduce the amount of Razors in my rotations.

Pears Glycerine Soap
Cyril R Salter French Vetiver Shaving Cream
Yaqi Moka Express 26mm 2BB Brush
Turkish Copper Bowl
GEM Featherweight with a GEM SS Blade (#4)
Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber
Simple Moisturiser
Monotheme Vetiver Bourbon EDT

I can only describe this cream as 'Vintage' with old packaging and the old formulation. This has to be one of my favourite Vetiver scents.......really dirty and earthy.
3 passes for a perfect shave with masses of feel good factor.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Antica Barbieria Colla Almond Oil Pre-Shave Cream
Brush: Rooney 1/3 Super Silvertip Badger
Cream: Jack Black Supreme Cream
Razor: UFO Tornado / Wolfman WR1
Blade: NOS Gillette Super Silver (2)
Post: Antica Barbieria Colla Almond Oil Balm
Scent: Farina Original 1709 EdC

A smooth and very close three pass shave with a BBS result. The cream performed very well, allowing the ultra-sharp vintage Gillette Super Silver blade to do the business with a minimum of fuss. All up a really nice shave. I am dropping the Witch Hazel from my routine for a trial period.

Mini-Review - Jack Black Supreme Cream

I was interested to try this cream, as I am a big fan of other Jack Black products, including their legendary Pit Boss Deodorant. The cream is very soft and of a consistency similar to toothpaste. The scent is delightful - a very classy herbaceous fougère. The scent strength is light-mid when lathering, and increases marginally during the shave.

The cream took a wee bit of time to lather up, and created a shiny lather of yogurt consistency, which I get mostly with soaps rather than creams. On the first pass, the thing that immediately struck me about this product was the cushioning - it was excellent. The packaging says "triple cushion shave lather", and they aren't kidding. This cushioning allowed for a fast and comfortable shave, as I glided the razor around my face with a light touch. Slickness during the shave was good, and residual slickness respectable. The post shave was also lovely.

In summary, I really liked this product and would consider purchasing it. Jack Black has clearly put a great deal of thought into its formulation, and it is a cream to be taking seriously in the wet shaving arena. It has a scent that I like a lot, has great cushioning, and has the feel of a luxury product. Well done, Jack Black!

Razor: Supply V1 #2
Blade: Personna PTFE (1)
Brush: Yaqi Aqua HMW
Soap: Speick Stick
Pre: Proraso White
ASL: Floïd Vigaroso
ASB: Floïd

First time using an injector. Spent the shave wondering if I had the correct angle and whether or not I was using too much pressure but the end result is a damn fine shave. Not a bad first attempt at all. The ATG pass was effortless with this stiffer blade (compared to a DE blade).

Sunday 15th December

Brush - Yaqi Plissoft
Soap - @Bazz's Hard Tallow Soap (as it has no name I will refer today as Bazzlobra
Razor - Ball End Tech
Blade - Gillette Wilkinson Sword India (3)
Post - Witch Hazel/Nivea Balm
AS - Benjamin's Bay Rum Mentholated

First time using Bazz's hard tallow soap today.

What is the soap like? It's a hard little circle of soap, rock solid and I weighed it - around 35g in weight. As for the smell, I find it difficult to describe it but it's like a mild fougere style scent not too strong and quite earthy.

How does it lather? I found the lather was almost exploding from the brush within seconds of loading which continued after putting the brush to my face.

What's the lather like? There's no way I can make a full assessment of the soap's lather but on first impression I'd say it performs like a very traditional tallow soap, it reminded me of the Valobra (hence Bazzlobra for now) shaving stick in some ways in how it was a rich and creamy lather with a nice amount of cushion and slickness, but it's much easier to lather than the Valobra shaving stick.

What's the post shave feel like? Again it reminded me a little like Valobra in some ways, quite neutral in some ways in not being drying or too greasy afterwards.

There's no way I can assess the soap just after one usage, but I'm very impressed with it so far and I'm sure I will really enjoy using it again.

As for the shave itself, the Indian GWS isn't the sharpest blade out there but did a reasonable enough job.
