SOTD: Saturday 11th January - Friday 17th January 2020.

Sunday 12th January
Cadman Custom - OSP Bay Rum - GEM Micromatic Clog Pruf - Personna injector blade #1 - Alum - BigBoar's â„–4 Bay Rum - Aloe Vera Gel

After being recently reminded, from a recent post that injector blades can fit this razor I thought, why not.........
I originally thought of the Proline B's but the blade corners are more chamfered, resulting in greater blade exposure. (May try those when I'm feeling braver). So I chose a Personna blade. It was very smooth and was rewarded with a lovely close result. It's nice to have an alternative blade for the Micromatic.

SOTD 01/12/20

The Occam's DE is one terrific safety razor. When used with a Feather blade it really can't be beat! This morning I decided to use one of my preferred shaving soaps, Wholly Kaw King of Oud. The indescribable scent that wafted from the slick, glistening lather whipped up with Jayaruh's Custom Boar is truly transporting. It brought back my traveling days and the Market in Marrakech. The shave was relaxing, and pleasant with minimal, if any, blade feel, and mimicked my first exposure to this razor - two passes for the face, and one and a half for the dome. I feel clean, smooooth and revitalized this morning.

RAZOR: Occam's DE
BLADE: Feather
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with PAA's Charcoal-Menthol Cube Preshave Soap
SOAP: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Royall Lyme AS Splash

I must have missed the original post...I never thought of trying any other blade than a Gem. Although I only have Proline B blades, I may give one a tentative try...

The post I read may have been across on the TOST forum. The injector blades aren't as wide as the GEM blades, so care is needed when resting the blade edge equally against the blade stops.

Razor: MÜHLE R96
Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
Brush: dscosmetics 2B
Soap: GFT Limes
Pre: Proraso White
ASL: ES Duine Fon Choill
ASB: Prep Cream

On to the Trumper creams and what better way to open than Limes? Also my first time using the R96 courtesy of a UK BST. This razor is an assertive girl and I picked up a few tiny nicks along the way - the first time in many shaves. She'll need to be handled with care. Also had a reaction to the ASL so my face is a little tender today.

A Lovely Sunday Shave

I have been having real trouble getting my phones from my new phone to my computer so not many SOTD from me recently.

A fine shave today a lot of the products I used I didn't expect to be favourites but they surprised me.

Preshave:
The wonderful soap that @Digimonkey Kindly sent me , I have 2 and they are both incredible , todays was the Afrrican Black Soap Base.

Razor:
Muhle Rocca , this razor has been a real surprise I picked it up in a trade and I have to say it is my favourite , smooth and Efficient.

Blade:
Feather , when I first tried these I cut myself to bits , recently I resisted a lot of the blade I didn't like when I started DE shaving and this is one I changed my view on, I find them very smooth and efficient.

Brush:
Grizzly Bay with a Tuxedo Knot , I wasn't so sur when I first had this brush but again it is now a firm favourite.

Soap:
MDC Original this is the exception I have loved MDC since trying my first sample , for me it is the best soap I have tried.

Splash:
Razorock Puros

Balm:
Barts Grapefruit and Pink Pepper , Parts Balms for me are exceptional.

EDT:
Dunhill Desire Black

Sun !2th Jan.

RazoRock Syn. 24mm
Lea Classic soap
Occams Hiram Cdr-plate11
Feather Pro [ 2 ]
Lea Classic A/S Lotion

My second Shave with the Hiram. On the First found that like the Oren it was not so good at clearing up the nostril area. Today I decided to tackle this area early on in The Shave, By concentrating and manipulating the nose I was able to use different angles of attack which proved very effective.

I was really pleased, and yet again it showed that often it is not the equipment to blame but operator technique.

The rest of the Shave went well and though still the finish was not as close as The Enoch, I have yet to try it with a Plate 3 which was my preferred plate when using the Oren.

Sotd - 12-01-20

Prep - facial scrub
razor - Rockwell - plate 4
blade - Super max titanium - (2)
soap - Ach Brito - Lavanda
brush - Chubby 1 - best
post - witch hazel
a/s - Quorum
balm - Weleda
scent - Homme de Caron edt.

As Julie Andrews nearly said - here are some of my favourite lavender things. Super relaxed Sunday afternoon shave - lavender soothes the savage breast - which is just as well - as I found myself coerced into going to a Tesco supermarket shortly afterwards - an environment that would make the Dalai Lama reach for a semi-automatic weapon. Have a good week all - enjoy your shaves - I.
