12th day consecutive using the Fat and my first less than exceptional lather with it. I didn't load enough soap to begin with and reloading my brush midway through didn't really help with the lather.
I'm growing to be really impressed with the Star made Personna razor, it's a touch more efficient than my Ball End Tech, but incredibly smooth in the shave. The Dorco Titan is an excellent blade, I'd say it's quite similar to the Astra Superior Platinum for how sharp and smooth it is.
The shave was finished with a few splashes of Wars Protect which is advertised as 'Musk and Cedarwood'. It feels great on the skin, but the scent is very mild and doesn't stay on the skin for very long. I'll enjoy using it for while it lasts but it's not one to replace or to savour.

Normally I don't post two days in a row, but this mornings shave was exceptional for me.

Following a Sunday morning shower, I put down my TI Bucephale 7/8" and swapped it for my 5/8" Dovo Prima. What a difference a quarter inch makes! The Dovo handles like a sports car compared to the TI. Normally I would do touch-ups with a DE safety razor, but not today, there were no touch-ups needed. This one shave has boosted my confidence with straight razors to a level I thought that I wouldn't achieve for months. For the next couple of weeks, I believe the TI will be my razor of choice for my evening shaves. The aftershave routine with my homemade products did an outstanding job. Well, it's GameDay! I haven’t used my massive TSR Shavemac for quite a while, and I seriously overloaded the brush. Making enough lather for everyone here.Great stuff. German tallow soaps where truly excellent.
Shame they’ve reformulated such exceptional products.

First shave with these newly acquired vintage Scottish Permasharp blades.
Not entirely legible worn handwriting on the box mentions 1959 and 1961 and the blades come with a bit too much glue even for my liking, and I'm not usually too fussed about glue spots.
Lots of card inserts highlighting AEB Uddeholm Stainless steel to make up the unused space in the carton.

The Fatboy is my go to razor, especially for testing a new blade, and this is an excellent blade. Extremely smooth and very sharp; as good as the other two types of vintage Permasharps. Hoping they will be quite long lasting too.
They're made of that thicker steel that some English Wilkies were in the early/mid-1960s.

Topped off with a new Superdrug Forest Fresh which has the same great smell of old but may not be as strong and long lasting.

A new Signature soap and another great scent and another great lather. Does Brian ever produce a duff soap? because I've never met one. Substantially delivered by the very substantial Highlander brush.

Another day out with the Athena and once again a superbly smooth, comfortable and efficient shave. I do find it a little gentle by my usual standard but it still produces a very close shave and face feel factor. Brilliant. And I still love simply looking at it and thinking, quality, quality and quality.

A lovely shave and just what a Sunday demands. Perfect.

So from the Spice Girls to a Spiced Girl and the return of Midori. Come on, she must be on something....




And of course, have a great week ahead and more importantly, I love you all

I have to say, I so love your SOTD posts. So much thought goes into them. I'm more of a razor, soap, blade, and aftershave type poster and thats what you get. I scan SOTD and make a point of reading yours, and others that catch my intrest. But yeah the Satan man rites good words. :ROFLMAO:
