Acquisitions - November 2022

2022's been a strange year for my shaving habits. For the best part of the year, I grew a ridiculously huge beard (which coincided with the hottest summer of my life) then shaved it off when it started getting cold, then started buying a ridiculous amount of shaving gear once again.

Today, the postie brought this...

A Gillette New Colgate set. I bought a Flat Bottom Tech a few weeks which was in almost new condition, this New was clearly used more but it's still in pretty good condition.

A few things I bought from local shops, but the Floid was from Gemstone Trading, which is due to be a present.

Some soaps, and some sticks. And a brush.

To be fair, these arrived since the start of the month, but I wasn't a member back then

Ngl, I thought I was buying a different TOBS soap, but didn't read the post carefully enough.

Good choice of soap there. Where did you find the Dove bar? I've never seen it in the UK.
Thanks.
The dove bar was on ebay, but from the USA.

I got a couple of them to make the postage worthwhile.

I may put the rest on buy sell trade if there's interest.

I am still waiting on a Dr Harris Arlington stick from the same order.

I just hope that it isn't lost.

I tried Dove Men's bath soap years ago when it was new and Holy Cow did it cause me to itch & itch!! I have no known allergies (except to poor women) and then I read that at that time a lot of people were having the same reaction. The only other bar soap that did that to me was Caress which I used decades ago in my parents' shower that my mom had left in the soap dish.

FYI: use caution.

Stagg XF pour over and Fellow tasting glasses.

Not shaving related but I'm pretty sure that the Venn diagram of 'proper' shavers and people that take their coffee a bit more seriously overlaps significantly. I take the same approach to the two activities - I'm going to have to do them most days of the year - so, I can try to do it well and enjoy the experience or do it badly.

cheers - I.
