Lands End to John O'groats Challenge Distance Record

I was looking at leather saddles recently. Ended up going with a Selle Anatomica H2 instead of a Brooks.

Oh boy what a difference... I have a happy bottom now.

The old one I'd had for years gave me real pain on long rides. I just assumed that's what cycling long distances meant.

The leather on the new one is so hard when you tap on it it's almost like tapping on a piece of wood. But when you actually sit on the thing there is a little bit of give. The hammock effect of a leather saddle really seems to make a difference.

The Brooks seems to be settling in quite nicely. I had to position it a bit further back than normal but it seems to have worked on the comfort front.

This one was one of the first they produced and a trial saddle they sent around various shops. And finally ended up under my ass.

A nice freebie though.

I also have a Specialized Globe which lives over in Yorkshire and as used today. A much more relaxed geometry and a big padded saddle. It may be a heavier lump but perfect for comfort.

If it takes 43 mins to burn off a pint of beer (37mins for a glass of wine,)
You can do a relaxed 2 miles walk in 40 mins
Therefore.
876 miles = 440 pints - ish,
Or
400 hrs on the lash due to walking between pubs.
I think I am there waiting for you lot to catch up!!
Only kidding lads, keep it up, you are all doing really well -
PS how long for a small pork pie ;).
Keep it up.(y)

A bit of stuff on the side. My weapon of choice. Specialized Sirus Comp with different derailleur and front set from original supply. Not easy on the back, but it does the job. I do find the geometry a bit steep and hence a bit twitchy.

Oh, and Schwalbe tyres and Brooks saddle gifted by my brother.

Nice bike but tell more about the stairs the handrail and the upright (balestrade ) look like quality solid wood. I,like a bit off wood me.
Copyright, French and saunders, fat men thrusting against a bench or a chair or a shelf or anything really. Still it was hilarious.

I've got it well sussed. I take a couple of cans and a pork pie with me as a snack. Then I have to go a bit further to justify my pub picnic....

And then I fell off the bike
