A very comfortable two pass shave accompanied by the wonderful lemon and lime scent from the Hibernia soap and splash. Summer in a tin/bottle for me.
Summer in a tin/bottle sounds a good strap Lime! Thank you

15 July 2021

Prepped with a Wash with Stirling Barbershop soap. Lathered Barbershop with a Yaqi Lucky Dice. 2 passes; Razorock Lupo .72, loaded with a Shark - keep seeing 'Shark Week' so I thought why not. Finished off with Stirling Unscented Balm and Barbershop splash.

The most notable thing was that my son (27) asked me how it was different to 'the other' wet shaving, so for the second time in my life, gave him a bit of a lesson (not that I'm much of a teacher after only 4 or 5 months of DE shaving), however, as a former military instructor, EDIP - Explain, Demonstrate, Imitate - now all he has to do is Practice!

He did say that on the upside, as I have acquired so much stuff, when he moves into his own house next month, I probably wouldn't miss the odd bit of stuff from my den! I think he thinks it will save him money - or it should if he nicks my stuff!

I fixed him up with a Merkur 34C, with an Astra blade and he used Executive Man, but paired this with the actual Creed ASL - He won't be buying that once he moves in his own gaff!!! He will be onto the Executive Man EDT and filling his Creed bottle from it in no time!

I'd notice if the Executive Man stuff goes, as it is my current favourite!

Obviously I started this SOTD this morning and a lack of interest soon kicked in as my 'job list' loomed.

Being as I have used most of these in previous SOTD's this week I shall leave it up to you the reader to go through them and dream up some typical crap I would write.

Job done

Smashing shave

Bring on the Japanese ladies to throttle some kind of musical ending to it all. Enjoy

Soap Stirling Boat Drinks 1st Use
Brush Yaqi 24mm Mountain Lake 2 Band Badger
Razor Fatip OC on a Yaqi Handle
Blade Shark Platinum Platinum 2nd
Post & Aftershaves Ice Water + Stirling Witchhazel Wintergreen + Hyaluronic + Clubman Gents Gin
Enjoyed this nice soap! The scent reminded me of some fizzy pop..the lather was rich creamy and quite slick...
Shave with the razor and blade combination was super smooth...glass-like sea surface...until unexpectedly bitten...lesson learned, don't let the guard down especially if all looks calm & smooth! 3passes for a mostly bbs finish but 2 red spots. The aftershaves were excellent!

First impressions of the H plate are good. Lots of audible feedback. It didn't feel as assertive as I was expecting it to. I wouldn't describe it as super smooth but it wasn't uncomfortable either. It did a better job of the two pass shave than the M plate - unsurprisingly.

Prep: Warm shower and PAA Cube
Brush: PAA Phantom
Soap: B&M Reserve Spice
Razor: Blackland Sabre L2
Post: Cold Water and B&Reserve Spice

An ok shave this morning, let down by the PAA scuttle (or user) and rescued by the razor. I am struggling to get to grips with the scuttle, perhaps if I use a smaller brush or a more pointed end then I might be able to get something more from it. I don't have this issue with my dog bowl, out of the soap container or even the small ceramic muhle bowl I keep at the back of the cupboard. The efforts continue.

Never mind that though, the razor performed admirably given the conditions (need to stop taking pictures on the bath mat, almost looks like it's brass in my recent pics), still smooth and refreshed ready for the day.

Nice sunny day so we're heading to the beach, I'll see if I can finally encourage the wee'un to swim in the sea, we shall see!

Have a grand day everyone!

Cheers

Marc

@Electrif I would just like to take time aside and say a very big thank you as you were the 25,000th person to give me a 'like'

In due consideration that no-one likes me in any way (not even my wife or family) I feel very honoured. It is either that or I have blagged and lied my way through life, which is more likely the case.

However as a big show of gratification I will happily send you a single GEM blade being as they are starting to become one of the most elusive items on the planet. I was only reading on here the other day reports of £30 a blade! Or was that 100?

Prep: Shower, Palmolive Olive Oil Soap
Soap: Meißner Tremonia Indian Flavour
Brush: 24mm Yaqi Sagrada Familia Tuxedo
Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
Post: TSD Kayaput ASL, Baxter's Balm

On a gloriously sunny morning in North Wales, and with a week of uninterrupted fine weather forecast, today seemed a perfect time to bring out the Meißner. Subtle rather than a minty hit, but the herby nature works well when book-ended by Proraso Pre and the Kayaput.

And to make things even better, I received confirmation yesterday that I've got tickets for a Welsh government "test event" in a couple of weeks. Yep -we're lagging behind the English unlocking of live venues, and this is a huge step in the survival of my favourite local haunt  First live gig for well over a year - to say I'm excited would be an understatement. Have a great weekend. I know what I'll be listening to
