SOTD : Saturday 16th January to Friday 22nd January 2021.

Tonight I did a basic shave on a day and a half beard:

Gillette Canada "pre-war" Tech
Palmolive shave stick
Mew Brown synth brush
New Astra SP blade

Say what you will, but the ol' Palmolive stick still kicks it!!

I had a strange quirky thought midshave: what if the Astra SP is really the best DE blade Gillette makes and due to marketing genius they price it rock bottom in order to sell boatloads? :unsure: :whistle:

Soap Stirling Haverford
Brush Yaqi 26mm Rainbow
Razor Yaqi SE Katana
Blade Tatra Platinum Half-blade 2nd use
Post & Aftershaves Ice Water + Thayers + Hyaluronic + Clubman WhiskyWood
Wow...!! Super nice tobacco(vanilla) scent and aroma with this soap. Even my wife says so. Creamily slick too... totally enjoyed the lather! Finally, able to get another great tobacco scent after Cavendish (2 other tobacco soaps were a dud)
Shave with the new SE razor paired with the blade was just acceptable. Smooth and comfortable for 3passes except for the atg on chin and lips area. In general, not efficient enough. Only able to get a SAS result. Positive was no nicks or weepers. Gotta try a sharper blade. Mmmmm...can still smell the soap scent faintly 2 hours later...nice! Rating 9/10

Hahahaha...right on! It was my 1st purchase for what I hope to be a great tobacco soap...Tcheon Fung Sing 'Linea Intenso' Tabacum Crepìto!
Turns out to be almost no scent at all...lather quality was good though.
I have 3 more tobacco soaps otw but will only arrive end of Jan or early Feb...hopefully, I have chosen well.

I await your update. I think I'll hold fire on another tobacco one for now and grab a P&B Spitfire once I've fully road tested the 8 variously scented soaps I've bought in the past 4 weeks!

The Eufros Barakah Oud sample was kindly gifted to me (along with a number of other samples) from @p.b thank you Paul you're a Gent!

This is the first time using Manuel's new base. The performance was very good (compared to any other soap maker) but I'm not sure I prefer it to the old base? The post shave didn't feel as soft and the residual slickness wasn't as good.
This is only the first use so maybe I need to add more water?
The scent was great, not overpowering but present throughout the shave.

This is the second time using the Carbon CX with the ++ base plate. I'm not sure what to make of it TBH.
I like the positive blade feel and I would say it's the smoothest of the three base plates but I think it's the least efficient.

I will need more time with all plates but the original 0.68 plate seems the most efficient and gives the longest lasting shave.

Scent: Creed Royal Oud

First shave with a Castle Forbes Cream. Impressive performance. The scent is a very natural and woody cedar, which dominates the sandalwood.
This particular Spoiler blade has served me well, but time for a graceful retirement.
