European Fine Soaps

I grew up, and continue to use Fine European soaps. Morny, Bronnley, Yardley, Pears and Roger and Gallet all held British Royal warrants. I generally get my soaps from TK Maxx or direct from Provence Sante. Castelbel from Portugal and Varesino bath soaps are inexpensive at TKM.

It's a shame that Pears and Imperial Leather are now total garbage.

We're making the transition to soaps now to reduce our plastic waste. There's some really nice soaps available on the market.

I use Pears a part of my face prep in the shower. I find its performance and smell ok but I have zero experience of the original formula for comparison. I also find it good value at ~70p per bar.

Reading @Blademonkey 's post above, I'd be happy to pay £2-3 for a good bar of soap. Any particular ones you guys can recommend as glycerin types?

Aleppo, Nablus, Turkish traditional or unscented Savon de Marseille are excellent soaps. I do use them regularly. However, I do miss the Lemon, Verbena, Grapefruit, Bergamot, Almond, Apricot, Rose, and Lavender scents. Claus Porto and Castelbel from Portugal are excellent. Although I did spot SLS in a Claus Porto. Nesti Dante, Varesino, Gori 1919, and Valobra from Italy are great too.

The French soaps unless in TK Maxx are hard to get. L'Occitane charges too much.

Pears contains SLS. I have 50 bars of the original in storage.

Italian fragranced soaps tend to not have any added moisturises other than glycerin i.e Nesti Dante. French soaps have shea butter and almond oil.

To some, I suffer from Eczema, Dermatitis, Rosacea, Psoriasis and Folliculitis. So it causes me irritation.

Yep, I wasn't aware of SLS and irritation. I developed Eczema pretty late on, a few years ago in my mid 30's. I've found certain soaps etc (no shaving ones) react very badly and some seem to have no problems.
