Pears Glycerine Soap
Palmolive Shave Stick
VIG Shaving 24mm Pure Badger Brush
Schick E2 (Canadian) with a Schick Blade
Witch Hazel
Palmer's for Men Moisturiser
Blue Stratos AS

An excellent 'utilitarian' shave. I say that only because I grew up with Palmolive and familiarity often breeds contempt.

3 passes for a face feeling finish.

Pre shave prep: Nu-age Menthol oil
Brush: RR 400 Plissoft
Soap: Erasmic soap bowl
Razor: Rocnel SE-P 316
Blade: 0.5 Astra SP (3)
Post Shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, homemade Bay Rum Witch Hazel
Balm: Barts Grapefruit and Pink Pepper Balm & Lotion
Aftershave: Old Spice Sport

A nice shave today with some soap issues.
I found the Erasmic soap a bit hard work to get on the brush, therefore, I added some shavings to the bowl, I managed to get what I thought was a slick looking lather and on the chin it went, as I was shaving I noticed it starting to dissipate and had to keep adding during the shave, this went on for the 3 passes.
So 3 easy passes with the razor and a bit work with the lather and I have a successful BBS chin.
A nice post shave routine even though the Block gave some indication, not much though.
Any advice welcome on the best way to get the soap to perform better would be appreciated.
Have a great afternoon All.

A superb practical shave set up.. along with my Every-Ready SE razors loaded up with a Gem PTFE blade, one of my Synthetic brushes, Pears Glycerine Soap,Palmolive Shave Sticks, my home made Witch Hazel mixture,Blue Stratos ASL, & Aloe vera gel....A shave set up that i would always be happy with. Jayaruh Syn. No67
Tabac Stick
ES Claymore / Ikon handle
Schick Proline [ 5 ]
Tabac A/S lotion

Another good Shave with one of my AC/SE Razors. The thing they have in common is the Blade I use, which is a Schick Proline Type P. This blade seems to work well for me being very forgiving, yet at the same time delivers really close
Shaves.

Sotd - Thursday the 18th of July -

Razor - Merkur 37c slant
blade - Gillette 'Aussie Spoiler' (1)
brush - Semogue 2015 HD silver tip
soap - Musgo Real 'Orange Amber'
post - witch hazel
a/s - Floid 'Mentally Vigorous'
balm - Floid.

Result - just fine -

After work shave this evening - the day put to rest - nice. I was wondering earlier about which razor to use - thank you for inspiration to @Palmolive fox - who said in his post today - 'The merkur 37C & it's bigger sibling the 39C are a joy to shave with. i've mentioned before i highly recommend to anyone sitting on the fence about buying a slant razor to go for it' - I couldn't agree more - the 37c was my second 'proper' razor - and has never been faraway since. It works perfectly well - with a minimum of fuss - for not that much money - I'll maybe revisit my slants - the Ikon X3 - in my opinion is a great razor - available head only - which is useful. So - job done - enjoy your evening - yours - I.

My method of using the Erasmic Shaving Soap Bowl....in a nutshell,.

1. i put some hot tap water on the surface and let it sit for a minute or so..
2. next pour off the water, but don't rinse the soap again.
3. Because it's a glycerin based soap i find it needs more water than you think, which can be very messy when mixing, but this is required with some soaps to get the best results.
4. With a fair amount of pressure on my wet brush i start to swirl the brush on top of the soap, but don't stop until after a minute or so,i live in a hard water area so it takes longer to create a lather.
5.After i've got a good amount of soap on my brush 'Bowl lathering i add a few drops of water, and mix for another 1-2 minutes, face lathering i wet the tips of the brush and face lather with added pressure until i get the consistancy i like.
6.Work the soap longer than you think you need,Add more water than you think you need, mix it way longer than you think you need to.

Hope this helps..Erasmic is a good shaving soap, remember it's a cheap soap and it requires more attention than a higher priced one.

PS: The Erasmic soap bowl which is on sale now is a new version, the older version was a much better soap, but both have great slickness & leave a excellent post shave feel.
