Being as my SOTD's tend to be very post-event I have decided to be more punctual on this occasion. So for this evening my theme is to be '666 and magic rituals'
111 - OneBlade Genesis V1 and the magic Feather FHS-10 blade
222 - Rituals Samurai Magic Shave
333 - Brush? There is no brush. Just magic apparently
444 - The Bath House Spanish fig and nutmeg aftershave balm
555 - The Bath House Spanish fig and nutmeg EDC
666 - Some shaving black magic
Right, now to go shave and then report back. Apologies for any delay.
Now that was good.
No, in fact Good with a capital G. No, no, in fact
Good with a capital and Bold

This was about as lazy as shaving can come. The Rituals Samurai Magic shave cream has stared at me for quite some years after an impulse purchase from their outlet store at Cheshire Oaks. If I recall I did use it once, and probably incorrectly which is why it never saw the light of day again until this evening. I also remember writing how well it lathers. What a lie. It doesn't lather at all. But I am a friend of the Satanic one and hence there is wriggle room to tell porkies. Use it straight from the jar and just slap it on your face. It is a sort of a gloopy greasy white cream with no fragrance I can register. It is, fragranceless. And I made that one up as well. To be honest this was all a bit hit and miss as I had no idea how to use the stuff and the jar gives little away.
So a good face wash with a small puck of Floris 89, hot rinse and throw on the Magic cream with my Simpsons chubby shaving digits and work it around. No synthetic fibres here. Not what I am aware of anyway.
Now hit it with the OneBlade. Wowser! This stuff is as slippery as a well versed cat thief (why would people want to steal cats?) and the razor simply glides over the surface with wonderful ease. Now this is where the magic blade comes in to play. One of my biggest concerns when I bought the OB was the longevity of the blades. One to three shaves I read which is enough to strike fear in to most folks bank balances. I had a vision of having to make a blade allowance in to the monthly finances, but here we are and this particular blade was on its sixth outing, and no prevarication. More amazingly it gave one exceptionally fine and incredibly close shave. One Hell of a shave and ask me what I don't know about my abode.
Finished off with yet another wash with the 89 and a cold rinse followed by a slosh of Witch Hazel. At the end of the day what use is ritual magic without a witch being in the mix? The same could be said of houses made of candy which sit in the middle of forests.
Final touches courtesy of The Bath House and their 'Higos españoles y nuez moscada' (or something like that) aftershave balm and EDC. Heavenly. Wherever that relates to and not somewhere I am not too hot on.
So a real winner of a shave and the best bit being that is was so damn lazy all was done and dusted in several minutes. Smooth? Too bloody right. Feeling great? In total. Smelling great? If smelling like a fig is your forte, then a big yes. Indeed a lot of magic going on here and a few very welcome surprises.
Have a magical week ahead folks.
