Keen is seldom used, except maybe if you are not too keen on having to do something you don't want to do. And, I can't keep pace with all the changes in technology. I think in the UK pace is used where we use the word speed. I only spent a year in England and, living in Manchester, missed to lot of the nuances in conversations because I wasn't familiar with the accent there. There were times when I had no idea what was being said.
Funny thing the hospitals. You are right about the wait. I once waited for several hours at North Manchester General Hospital, but when the problem was identified I was whisked off to Royal Oldham Hospital and at 4 o'clock in the morning found a team of 9 doctors, including a renown vascular surgeon, waiting for me to do their thing. Still can't figure out how they came up with all these guys at that hour in the morning. In the US everything is private, and usually no waiting. Emergency rooms can be a different story however, unless you are in dire straights.
