A fine handle indeed as I'm sure the whole brush will be. I need one!
Looks like a well formed knot which is a rarity from TGNHi again, everyone.
Rowlers Dad has been busy. He's turned a similarly shaped brush to trial-set the coins to see what they look like. Here's the results:
First, a close-up of the Florin – nice and shiny:

2nd, the knot has arrived:

3rd a mock-up of the brush in the handle:

4th, a different shot of the Florin in the base:

5th, the Sixpence in the knot hole and the Florin beside it:

6th, one more shot of the Florin in place:

I have asked Rowlers to get us the actual dimensions of my brush and I'll post it when I get it (which may be after my absence October 2nd to 14th).

The nicest part of this project for me is when you find a craftsman who can turn your vision into reality. I'm a craftsman by trade and although I have some time for architects and designers they in my opinion get far too much praise for drawing things. The real skill is in getting that drawing off the page and making it into a real thing. Rowlers Father has made something beautiful and something I know you will cherish which I know he and you will appreciate. Well done to both of you and rather than handling a piece of cast resin which are lovely what you have is a piece of natural history. I wish you many happy shaves when the brush arrives.
That does look really nice. Loving the old bog oak colour.
Great news, I shall have to enquire regarding costings. Thanks.I understand from Rowlers that there is a bit of the Bog Oak left. I sort of think he'll make one for himself. Hi did, however, say that he's insterested in sourcing more Bog Oak from Latvia, Russia, or other places. If he does you may be able to order one from him.
A beautiful brush, thank you for the journey, it's been funHi everyone.
Thanks for being patient in waiting for news.
"BOBYB" has arrived in the colonies (Canada). Canada Post seemed to have lost track of it -- it never showed up in the tracking system but, lo and behold, Mr. Postman showed up at my door on Monday and demanded a signature. It was too late on Monday, so I left posting until today. So here we go with the first SOTD with BOBYB:
My choice for today's shave:
BOBYB (of course).
My favourite shaving bowl -- a plastic salsa bowl (about $3 from Amazon) with scratch marks on the inside to help build the lather.
Israeli Red Persona blade.
My favourite shaving soap and matching aftershave splash: Henri et Victoria "Cognac and Cuban Cigars" (Fantabulous scent, slick cusiony lather, great skin feel afterwards).
Rinse with witch hazel and alum block rub before aftershave.

All lathered up:

And here's BOBYB all bloomed after the shave.
