Picked this little razor up at a flea market.

It came with 7 days worth of blades, marked Germany.

The blades fit like this, and are held in place by the extendable arms.

The above pic is set to the mildest setting, however the blade gap is fully adjustable to this...

It's all marked up Yorkshire Steel Company and dated 1910, any other info you guys have would be appreciated!

Completely new to me - but I can't work out from the photos how the blades fit. Do you think they can be honed for regular use?

Little else in Waits other than patent number and dates ... apparently the same mechanism was used on a folding "straight" razor setup.

Yorkshire Steel Cutlers, rather than Company.

The blade fits like a saw blade, it locates on two spigots at the end of the arms, a turn on the handle and the blade is under tension and held very securely.

A few of the blades show signs on honing, so it may be possible. ..

I found the patent drawings, reference Holts patent safety razor. Applied for 1909 granted 1912. And a review from a New Zealand newspaper saying it's like shaving with a feather. That's all google has to offer.

Blades fit like this:

I will be selling this as moving into the even cheaper world of straights!

More of a curio/collectors piece as the blades are proprietary.

Just don't know how much to ask, as I've never come across one, there was one on e-bay a few years back but it was withdrawn.

Any suggestions welcome!
