Worth dumping Boar for Badger hair?

For your budget then New Forest is the clear choice. They are turned from a nicer, more tasteful ivory coloured rod and have lovely knots. You need not spend more.

For under £20, you need to stick with boar. A Semogue 1305 is a great place to start. Over that, you can start looking towards the likes of New Forest and Whipped Dog silvertip.

Here's my review of the latter: http://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/forum/thread-24733.html

Okay guys. Suggestions please for a badger brush. Price limit £50-£55.

I'd still get a New Forest. In terms of price, quality and performance they are as good as it gets. The extra money you'd be shelling out won't get you a better brush overall and may, in fact, get you something of lesser satisfaction.

Thanks Rufus. I do like the look of their brushes to be honest. And the fact members on here like the ones he sells makes it better and gives me confidence.

My 49 is one of my favourite brushes for hard soaps you need to load up a fair amount as its a big knot. Also the longer you soak it the better.

Frank shaving brushes are also good and cheap on eBay.

If your spending more a semogue owners club badger brush.
