I just won this wedge 8/8 from Craig Barr himself on the Bay of E.

The blade is effectively coming over here 'nude' and will need the inevitable scales and setting etc - so who is good in the UK at fancy scales?
Dimensions are :-
Overall 5 1/2" Long. Blade is 2 1/2" long x 8/8" wide x 3/16" thick

Any advice or info would be gratefully received

You are going to need a few pieces of tape on that one in order to keep the bevel relatively small. The ratio of blade width to spine should be in the range of 3.5 to 4:1 - that's measuring from where the spine hits the hone. That gives an optimal bevel of around 18 degrees and in this case the spine looks to be right at the top so you have a ratio of 5.3 which will reduce the angle to less than 11 degrees.

Drop me a pm if you want to discuss scale materials etc.

Edit. If your tape is 0.5mm thick, three layers will give you somewhere near an 18 degree bevel.
