Whatever happened to...

The plastic inserts I used to find in the top of my dad's aftershave bottles? The same sort of thing as in the top of a vinegar bottle. Made it more controllable, getting from bottle to hand, without messing about putting a finger over the mouth of the bottle.

While I'm here, can anyone tell me if it is possible to refill a traditional style Old Spice bottle? I don't have access to one, to check for myself.

Some still have them, DR Harris and Ogalalla off the top of my head. I agree it's a pain when it's "free pour".

Hmm... I wonder if they can be bought separately? I suppose they might transfer between bottles; bottle openings seem to be a similar size.

Could be a possibility... Mine are in use and unlikely to be free for a few years, though. I'll have a check on Rosi's bottles... and be murdered for it...
