Watch investment

If it was me buying today on that budget I'd go for this. There are a few different coloured faces and straps.

I have a Hamilton Khaki field with that exact movement a great watch I'm more than pleased with my watch, that's a good price as well.

Very nice, it's next on my list. A great looking watch, I knew someone on here had a Khaki.

As a watch collector with about 50 in my collection I would definitely advise against buying one with the expectation that it will rise in value.
If you want a nice watch, buy the best you can afford and you like the most, enjoy it and don't worry about the value.
Who knows, you might be lucky...

Now I want to know about your collection!

Got any pics of your favourites?

I collect vintage watches from one brand, Rado. They made the first scratchproof watch back in 1962, the Diastar. I mainly focus on their scratchproof (tungsten carbide cased) models as they have done some magnificent mineral dials and outrageously faceted crystals.
They have continued to push the boundaries of watch design and materials in the last 50 years.
They are very much a 'Marmite' brand on the various forums I'm a member of but I love them.
I would post pics but Tapatalk doesn't seem to want to let me. I'll keep trying.

Thanks, I'd not heard of Rado before, just goes to show how many hidden horological gems there are.

My favourite brand at the moment is Vulcain. They have presented a watch to every American president since Truman (with the notable exception of George W Bush!) and yet very few folk seem to have heard of them. Go figure!

Vulcain make some interesting watches but they're well out of my price range. Their vintage models are much more understated, and affordable.

They appear to be another one of those brands that make good quality watches but very few people have heard of, despite the link with US presidents.

Do you own one?
