If you want to upload pictures (without size restrictions) from your computer to the forum there are free on-line image hosting websites that will allow you to do so easily without having to sign up, download software or understand how to edit images. They do it all for you.
I have used ImageShack here but there are others like TinyPic or Photobucket that have the same features.

First use the browse button to locate the image on your computer (A) and then press button (C) to upload image.
If the want to resize the image use pull down menu (B) to choose the correct size before uploading image. (640 x 480 should be adequate)

After the upload has been completed you will be presented with many links. The Direct Link is what you are looking for, highlight and copy it (Control + C) The Link is now stored in your computer's memory.

To post the picture on the forum press the Img button above the window, this will place a pair of (Image) img "tags" in the text editor window.

Place the cursor between the Img tags and then paste the Direct Link code that is in your memory (Control + V)
The Direct Link code that you copied should now have been pasted between the tags.

That's it, just preview or submit the topic and the image should appear.

You can use a similar technique to paste images you find on the web by copying the image URL directly (Right click over the image) and then pasting between image tags.

Useful tutorial and thanks for the post.
Boab has fixed the earlier problem I was having but its good to know there are alternative ways to post pics.
regards, beejay
