Always watch. Never bet.

My old George is with us for the weekend. He seems to back every other horse in the race so we are guaranteed entertainment.

So who should I back if I have a last minute conversion?

Best to treat it as a bit of fun, stick a pin in the list, or pick a colour or name you like. £5 each way and give your heart a little work out.

Horses are stupid and love running and jumping and if they weren't doing stuff for us we would have hunted them to extinction years ago, so by encouraging them to race we're doing our bit for the survival of the species.

Win / win.

Enjoy.

In the sweepstake here at work today.

I have Colbert Station & Quito De La Roque

It's the only horse race I watch or take any interest in so hopefully I will be home in time to catch it in full HD ;)

Laid those bets on Monday after a tip

I can tell you're not a regular gambler :) or maybe you are.

"Laying" is what we do on the exchanges when we want to 'green up'.

Fair dues though, £70 is a nice little return for your stake.

£5 e/w on Pineau de Re and £5 e/w on Prince de Beauchene.
Prince was the one looking good most of the way round. When he started fading Pineau came through to give me another one to cheer!

Easy to say with hindsight but I was looking for a shaving related horse to put some money on. I thought about Pinaud (as in Pinaud Clubman) de Re but then moved on for some reason. Always go with number one thought!!
