The Generous Straight guy, Continued (A Newbie's Tale).

The scales are not moving, it's a user error not equipment, I just need more time I will work something out, only had 3 shaves so not expecting to be proficient for the foreseeable future.

Thanks again for the advice, it's all being taken on board.

lol, I have just read your first post again Stacy.
Might as well have been my experience.
Except that I did zero research and couldn't resist a go with me new friend the feather SS.
'I should stick to the cheeks' I thought as well.
Did I heck?
So, funnily enough, my one cut? A cut to the chin.
Stepped back a couple of steps for the next shave.
Amazing how quick we learn though isn't it?

I used my Feather DX tonight and slit my cheek because of a very slightly wrong angle - we may learn quickly, but we never completely master the art.

Managed to acquire a Kamisori from pjgh, and after good few Japanese barber videos, some better research on stropping, my second shave has been a very successful shave with very little irritation and a smooth finish.

This basically confirms my suspicions of a non functioning part of the brain, that is supposed to control my left hand, I shall try a few more times with the generously loaned straights from RSSO and see if I can improve my technique, failing that I shall be concentrating on my Kamisori and dreaming of owning a genuine Iwasaki.
