OK,it was within the rules. But if a bowler stops like that, half a side could be run out.

It says the bowler warned him twice. If thats true he's a bit of a slow learner....

It seemed to me that he would still have been in his ground if the bowler had released the ball normally. But then I do have poor eyesight!

Here's the rule as it applies to international matches - 'The bowler is permitted, before releasing the ball and provided he has not completed his usual delivery swing, to attempt to run out the non-striker'.

Given the previous warnings it becomes a decision for the umpire as to whether the bowler has completed his swing.

Batsmen choose to stand their ground when they know the have edged balls, bowlers threaten to break batsmen's arms - not sure where the spirit is Peter.

I played for long enough to know that you kept your bat behind the line if you thought this outcome was a possibility.
