i have changed it.....it was doing my head in, if i used the laughing Emoticon " :lol: " it would be out of sink with my avatar and it was causing me to have fits !

Just press esc, stops any animated gif's moving. Works a treat. People can be as irritating as they want. I spend much of my time on forums with avatars turned off. If people use moving images, I use esc for a bit then tend to turn off avatars altogether in the control panel.
