SOTD : Saturday 19th March - Friday 25th March 2022.

Evening all,

Prep, flannel and hot water
Brush, Phantom Aerolite
Razor, Alpha Outlaw (Copper)
Blades Supermax Diamond Edge (2nd use)
Cream, Wars (Sensitive)
A/S, Wars Fresh

As usual this cream lathered up very easily. Nice and thick, easy to apply. A nice subtle scent.

Usual 3 grain pass. The cream provided a nice surface to work with. No nicks / weepers / cuts. No irritation either.

Very pleased with the results. A nice clean and close shave. I’d also recommend the Wars A/S in addition to the cream. A nice clean and fresh scent. What more could you ask for.

Have a good evening all.

Ben

SOTD, Monday 21 March 2022

Pre-shave:
Hot shower, Wright's cold tar soap, followed by cold water splash.
Soap: D.R Harris - Windsor shaving stick.
Brush: Simpsons Duke 2 - Pure badger.
Razor: Blackland Era-OC (level 3).
Blade: Astra Green (Day 3).
Post: Cold water splash, Musgo Orange Amber Cologne, followed by Banana Boat AloeVera Gel.

A relaxing 2 pass shave this morning; WTG and XTG - DFS finish with no issues to report. I added the rubber o-rings to the Era handle - not sure if they make any real difference regarding grip - but there on no and they won't be comming off.

I forgot how good the Windsor soap smells - very easy to face lather up - good protection and slickness.

The Era continues to perform very. very well - I cannot recommend this razor highly enough as a daily driver - it feels safe, solid performer and robust - the Volvo of the DE shavind world, if that is a fair comparison?

All the best,

Chris

Good evening men, I hope you’re all well.

Yaqi Island Cavern
Muhle R89
Gillette Nacet (1)
ES Bay Rum Cream
Boots Freshwood Balm
LPL Bay Rum Splash

For about 6 months I’ve solely been using adjustable DE’s so this evening I thought I’d go for a conventional DE razor.
The end result was excellent and I might keep going with the 89 for a bit now.

Stay safe fellas.

4 shaves from a FHS-10!, its not as smooth as a new one and i am tempted to give it another run out before i modify a GEM.
The C-19 virus is not affecting me too much, head and Body aches mainly.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.
Get well soon.

Brush: C&H 'Finned' V14
Soap: MdC Fougère
Razor: Blackland Era (5)
Blade: GSB (4)
Post: Barts Ben Kilbreck

Think I've given the Era SB enough of a run out to say that it's a keeper, efficient and smooth with a nice weight to it. I would probably say I still favour the Blackbird of the 3 Blackland DE's I own, followed by the Era then the Dart. For the price of it you really can't argue, an excellent quality razor and with the other plate options there's something there for majority, but perhaps not those with the preference for uber aggressive razors.

Hope everyone has a cracking day!

Cheers

Marc
