pour un homme de caron edt

absolutely rubbish shave, rough as bulls lugs and plenty of blood. i think been full of codeine and ibuprofen on an empty stomach for a cracked rib made for a sketchy shave. the caron edt was used as a comforter, makes me feel a little better.

Love the Caron fragrances. Le Troisieme Homme and Yatagan are just about my favourites of those I have.

MONDAY EVENING

Prep: Hot flannel
Soap: Tabac stick - face lathered
Brush: Dickinson & Gilroy bristle
Razor: 1934 Gillette Aristocrat
Blade: Polsilver (3)
Post: Alcolado Glacial, Castle Forbes balm

Very close shave (albeit with a weeper on the chin) but the lather wasn't great from this NOS brush. It's going to take a bit of breaking in I think.

The Polsilver felt a bit rough too, which is odd as I've had about 6 shaves out of one before.

Also this was the last use of the Castle Forbes balm. I started off hating it, but it got better as time went on. I won't be buying it again though, and GFT Skin Food is much better for me personally.

Evening, gents.

Monday:

Prep: Claus Porto Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Mach 3 disposable
Blade: N/A
Brush: N/A
Shave cream: Bulldog Brushless
A/S: I Coloniali Ebano Ebano

Had to shave in a rush this morning. Not bad, visually acceptable, though it wasn't terribly close. Still, it was good enough.

Prep Pre Shave
NSS Dragons Blood
Semogue 1520
Merkur 33c
7 o'clock Yellow
Witch Hazel Gel.

Good one this morning. Super soap made all the difference.

Good score Mikael those Japanese Towa razors are fantastic shavers, and I would have mine as one of my best shavers.

Jamie

Cheers Jamie! A very good shaver indeed :)

I have all three including a 200ml bottle of Pour Un Homme.

Outstanding, affordable fragrances.

Tuesday xxvi March

Prep: Shower, Arran Aromatics Lavender and Tea Tree Face wash
Pre: Cold water splash
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum, Sage & Cedar Stick
Brush: Dickinson & Gilroy bristle
Razor: Gem Micromatic OC
Blade: Gem PTFE
Post: Alum, Thayers Medicated WH, Zirh ASB
Splash: Ogallala Bay Rum, Sage and Cedar

Result: Love the Micromatic OC, and improving my technique. Love the little Dickinson & Gilroy, but it'll need some breaking in. I had to revert to a best badger after a little vigorous face lathering, but it'll soften no doubt. First use of the Zirh - very nice. All in all a pretty decent scrape this morning.

Have a good day everyone.

Jon

Greetings

Tuesday 26th March 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: GEM Pushbutton
Blade: Treet Carbon
Brush: Semogue OC Boar
Soap: Speick grated into a container
Aftershave: Floid Balm

First try with these blades very kindly given to me by Ed (Monkeytennis) and first impressions are all good, quite smooth and very sharp, no tugging. A really good shave, I'll use the blade to it's end to see how many shaves I get. I don't know if they are any different from the GEM Blue star carbon, I find it is hard to hold in your memory what a blade is like unless it is extremely good or extremely bad.

Thanks Ed!

Regards
Dick.

Tuesday

Just testing a new acquisition before it goes off for replating.

Prep: Hot Shower
Brush: Simpsons Colonel
Soap: Nannys Ice & a Slice
Razor: Gillette New Bostonian
Blade: Personna Lab Blue
Balm: Barbershop Bay Rum

This is a very nice shaver, I think it would benefit from a heftier handle though, I wonder what Rafael has available that would suit this ;)

Anyway, this is now packed up and on it's way to Dave, hopefully in a few weeks it will be back looking shiny and Gold.

Pre hot towel + Valobra stick in bowl + Omega B&B EE + Gillette Contour with Gillette Slalom cartridge #2 + Sergio Tacchini splash with Proraso Blue balm

I got a lovely thick lather with this Valobra soap and Omega hair brush, but not very protective... I found that this Slalom cartridges are a bit irritating although I got a close shave without much effort. I'll continue testing them!

Cheers!

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: M&F
Razor: Cowboy
Soap: MWF
AS: Mennen
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Uberclean :D

I've been very lucky lately, first I found the H. Diamond razor and then this one, that I also have been on the out look for, for a very long time. Excellent razor! :D
