Shea Butter

Shea butter is something I don't mind as an ingredient in products (L'Occitan soaps, Institut Karite etc...), just not sure I would feel the need to use it raw, as it were.

I seem to be the only one who really loves the smell. I have a tub of it but do find it greasy although it's good for my skin, especially my dry 'elephant skin' elbows!

Apparently it is a closely guarded secret among African women as to how shea butter is made. It is an ingredient in Dudu Osun African black soap, and it is a nice soap to shower with.

This is the recipe I use with Shea butter.

1 part beeswax
1 part shea butter
1 part dandelion infused sunflower or olive oil

Small pucks rubbed in your hands. Excellent for hands.
