Friday...

Soap - OSP Fougère
Brush - Semogue 1520
Face lather
Razor - ER 1924
Blade - Gem Personna
Post - Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
EdT - Trumper's Eucris

I must admit, I find my 1924 performs far better without shimming. I tried a half shim once and it rendered the shave somewhat rough; and it began to take quite some time to get a reasonably smooth finish.

No such problems today, though. The un-shimmed Gem cut through the roughage, leaving a smooth finish after a comfortable shave. I stuck a handle on the 1924 from an American 1912 and it allowed for better control, being slightly longer.

Like @Electrif , I'm a huge OSP fan. The Fougère really is a cracking soap. Tallowy goodness and plenty protection.

Same here. :)
I don´t find any improvement shimming the GEM PTFE blades in my Ever - Ready 1912 razors.
The shaves for my taste are smoother without. ;)

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash and Proraso Green
Razor: Fatip Piccolo
Blade: Dorco Prime (#3)
Brush: Kent BLK4
Soap: NSS Old Grey Bristle Test
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea Soothing balm

A close and uncomfortable shave today, yesterday I used my Maggard OC v2 head today with the same blade I get a better and closer shave from the Fatip. I do use the Fatip a lot more but I think the Maggard OC head is just not for me.

Evening shave.

Baxters of California Face Wash, BBA Shave Oil.
Haslinger Honig.
Maseto 30mm 2 Band Finest.
Little Wren Pottery.
Rockwell 6C (plate 4).
Polsilver Super Iridum (1).
OSP Lemon and Cedarwood Aftershave Tonic.
BBA Post Shave Balm.

My first use of a Polsilver and it certainly won't be my last. It worked superbly with the 6C and the result was BBS after 3 very smooth passes with minimal pick-ups. The perfect start for a long weekend.
