Give the guys a break. From what I can tell they have migrated the site to a new hoster and to the bleeding edge XenForo 2.0 software.
And after all that - it still works. Kudos!
The upgrade will have broken plugins for XenForo 1.x (smilies, themes, whatnot), so there is still a lot of work to be done and I'm sure SSL is one of the items on Boab's list.
Please leave the simple B&W theme as an option. It's pleasingly easy on the eyes.
