Semogue 2000 huge knot splay.

I've only used this brush maybe a dozen times and its about 5 months old. The knot has splayed like you wouldn't believe, I try not to splay my brushes on the face and just try to use the tips only. Has anyone else had this problem with the 2000?

Mine did the same. Not a problem for me though, however, boar brushes are probably my least favourite now.

I always, once dry bind my boar knots with some thick paper and secure it with a hair band and this keeps the Bristles in as new upright condition ready for the next shave. It also allows me to stand my brushes side by side saving on the amount of space the brush takes up so have not incountered the splayed Bristle effect.

That's how Semogues are. They have wild bloom. If you want a brush with limited bloom, buy an Omega. Simple as that.

I concur ... a good number of my Semogues looked (past tense as I've moved them along) like that. Not an issue in use. Really. Just enjoy

I agree. Each brush is different, and I enjoy seeing how each knot develops with use.

That is a beautiful bloom on your Semogue.

I leave my boars to dry in finished loo roll tubes to help retain the shapes, kind of works but I think a beast like the 2000 might still splay like that once it's gone that way?
