Though the Shave was pleasant enough, I think that this Razor is a bit too mild for me. I regrettably did not get the kind of close finish that I get with other Razors.Probably will not include it in my regular rotations.

A good shave this morning and a smooth result. The Merkur Progress is an efficient and comfortable razor, providing you don't find the handle slippery. I have no problem with it. It is a little gem.

Just enough Lather for the 3 passes leaving me with a DFS+ finish,
The Pure sport is now done and the Barts lotion is coming to an end? i noticed i have a lot of the balm left then i realised i also use the lotion with the Proraso Red balm - Hey Ho.
HOLD THE PHONE
That has to be the worst shave i have ever had, if the razor was new and i had only used it once i would have sent it back,
That's it, i am never shaving again, i mean, look at the state of my chin!!

I decided to use the wilkinson soap after seeing a post about their shave stick. Having tried this blade in my ESC Outlaw (Mild) the past few days with just ok results, I stuck it in my faithful Merkur. A much better result. Is that because I'm so used to using the 34 after so many years as many main razor, or the Outlaw (Mild) isn't as good as some make it out to be. I'll try with the standard plate soon and my usual blade.

A 5 second load of MWF created a good pass worth of lather, but as I was only shaving below the jaw and above the cheekbones I used the remaining lather to clean my beard, and it felt great afterwards.
Ah, MWF with your lanolin leaves my beard so delightfully fluffy.
