Yikes ... What a shave!

The Maxterpiece is uber sharp, and the old Williams soap I picked up (the box had a price of 15 cents) teamed up well with it. I also like the soap in the Pyrex sugar bowl from Wally World!

2 passes, WTG+XTG and that's the last I'll ever see of Bolzano - tugging and pulling like mad. Alpa's fougere + 444 mix so well.

Bulldog Face Wash/Scrub
Wickham's Super Smooth English Lavender
Omega 98 Boar ... Big Boar! Oink!
GEM Junior Bar (1910) & GEM Super Stainless (2)
Hot Rinse & Cold Rinse
Brut Original Aftershave
Jaguar For Men EDT

Bowl Lathered
Three Pass - WTG, XTG & ATG

New brush, new razor and a full three pass shave. Super smooth and very refreshed.

The GEM Junior Bar is the one! The One!

1910, GEM Cutlery Co. should have closed up their design department and left it at that ... granted, we would not have seen the Damaskeene or the 1912 or the Micromatic or the super-fly Contour, but they would not have been missed. This. That's all ...

Prep: shower (as always!)
Brush: Simpsons Chubby 2 2-band
Soap: Jabonman Sierra (1 more use left)
Razor: Digress
Blade: Voshkod
Finish: Alum and then some Executive Shaving balm.

After yesterday's disappointingly patchy shave with the Voshkod in a Weber I thought I'd try it in another razor and the Digress never disappoints… It has be a dodgy Voshkod (which has never occurred before)! A bit rough again but the blade is now in the blade bank.

Very nearly finished the soap.

Prep: shower and cold water splash ready for cold water shave
Brush: Semogue 620
Soap: Proraso sensitive
Razor: Merkur progress (3)
Blade: Astra SP

Still trying to judge the soap level with the Proraso, so a bit thin today after 5: swirls and a shaken brush for face lathering.
Other wise a really nice shave keep coming back to the Astra it seems to work well for me in what ever razor I put it.

'tis nice, in't it. I reckon it's the one razor that allows you to angle the blade almost flat against the face - there's not much of the razor between you and the blade. I think that's what gives a smooth & close shave.
The design makes changing blades faster than that of a cartridge razor. As far as I know, it's the only SE razor that lets you leave the blade in the razor without having to worry about rusting because the blade has airflow from both sides; although I always do take out the blade after each shave anyway.
The downsides I found was the bulky head makes it difficult reaching under the nose and it's so light it's difficult to judge how much pressure to use. I think my stainless steel handle gives the razor more weight & momentum and feels more stable but it's just a matter of getting used to the weight. The short handle makes you do weird wrist movements.

Great fun.
