Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Murdock Avalon pre-shave oil
Soap: Murdock Avalon cream
Bowl: Woodhead Tall Large Scuttle
Brush: MÜHLE Kosmo silvertip synthetic
Razor: Gillette Fatboy @8 (pass-around)
Blade: Sputnik (3)
After: M&S Harvard AS, Murdock Avalon ASB

Last outing with the Fatboy I think. I reckon setting 8 was the right closeness but also felt a touch rough. Overall would have given a BBS save for a few areas that I missed but surprisingly no irritation. To me this razor is a bit clunky and difficult to reach certain areas and angles. I much prefer the Slim for its maneuverability and weight more balanced towards the head.

Got the best shave I've had in a long time... 3 passes, WTG, XTG, XTG. BBS and I've been faceturbating all day. Blew my usual futur/Astra SP combo out of the window!

Hot shower
Hot flannel
Stroppe Shoppe London Morning scuttle lathered
Brush made by myself, TGN Finest badger 24mm
Gillette Monobloc 55
Polsilver super iridium (2)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
DR Harris Arlington aftershave

Enjoying the scent and performance of the London Morning a top soap. I just get a slight reaction to the soap, a slight tingling nothing to stop me using it but it's there in the background.

Saturday Afternoon

Prep: Hot Shower

Brush: Vulfix handle withTGN 2 Band 26mm

Blade: Vintage Wilkinson Sword

Razor: Shavecraft 101 head, Weber Classic handle

Cream/Soap: ToBs Sandlewood cream, face lathered.

Aftershave: Barbershop Bay Rum

DFS, no weepers irritation free shave. really like the blades, need to get to know the razor angle I think. Not the closest shave for me, razor feels mild, but practice may help.. First time with this razor, lent to me by a nasty enabler! :)

MRGLO
ER Featherweight
GEM PTFE (3)
Vie Long Badger/Horse
Old Spice Soap
Old Spice A/S (Shulton)

Used the full compliment of Old Spice gear today, from shower gel to hair cream - great stuff all round!

The featherweight, however, was not to my liking and gave me the worst shave I've had in months. Perhaps I'll need to try another technique.

Cold water splash
Speick Stick (grated)
Shavemac 177 Silvertip
Bristish Fat Handled Tech
Gillette 7 O'Clock Black (3)
Speick ASB

Dug out my trusty Tech for a change. Comfortable enough result, but without the closeness my Weber offers. Back to the Weber tomorrow!

Sunday Afternoon

Prep: Hot Shower

Brush: Vulfix handle withTGN 2 Band 26mm

Blade: Vintage Wilkinson Sword (2)

Razor: Merkur 38 (c)

Cream/Soap: GFT Coconut cream, face lathered.

Aftershave: Aqua Velva

DFS, no weepers, irritation free shave. really like the blades, back to an old favourite razor. My first DE (not counting the plastic eBay one).

Forgot how much I like the 38 (c). Nice handle, good weight and balance. The Aqua Velva always makes me smile. Not sure if it unlocks memories of Dads and Grandads', or I just like the smell.

All set now for a sleep before night shift..

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:(

WSP Monarch 2 band
1958 Executive/Personna74 (NOS)
Xpec SC (last of this till reinforcements get here)
Myrsol Emulsion used as AS
Pens BB cologne (perfect after the Xpec)

Third time using this brush......first time with a cream. Man, this knot is pretty darn fun. Whips up lather real easy, very soft on the face, and with as much backbone as I would like. Still haven't decided about the handle being just a tad too short or not. Even if it might be, this brush is still a kick.

This old blade works great in the Executive dialed in perfectly. Probably the 9th or 10th shave and it's still sharp and smooth.

BBS results,

Martin
