Hello all,

My trusty Rocket HD Aluminum has had a fit and stopped opening/closing the doors.

I have not used it in a while and left it doors open, all cleaned without a blade in.

I have come back to use it and the doors are firmly open and no twisting movement at all.

I have hot soaked and put oil in the ends but still nothing.

Whats the next step please?
 
Maybe a bit of galvanic corrosion seizing it up, I'd protect the TTO knob with a bit of card, cloth, tape or whatever and use a pair of pliers to get better leverage and apply more force.

Don't be silly though if it isn't turning don't use maximum force.
 
Thanks antdad. Put a teatowel around it and used a pair of pliers.
Checked one of my other razors to check the correct direction and after a couple of gentle encouragement turns it worked.
I have put a bit of oil down and used the mechanism about fifteen times. Fingers crossed it'll stay ok, if not maybe a oil bath for a few days to try and breakdown any crud in there.
 
Loosey lefty, Righty tighty.

Just don't leave the TTO tightened for a prolonged period be it open or closed, half a turn is enough.
