Not sure f I found a little treasure today in a local antiques shop.

Looking at the interweb I think it is a gilette Rocket HD.
Using this guide: http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/gillette-rocket-the-refined-de.8590/

Number seven about a third of the way down.

Also looking at other site it looks very similar to a Milord on some sites.

Anyone care to comment?

Thanks.

Using a basic set of kitchen scales around 45grams

Forgot to add, no date code, patent pending under the cargo doors and made in England stamped.

Could well be. The scales measure per 20g so no where near accurate enough.

I am wondering due to the darker colouring if it is the HD.

What should I have paid for it? Or worth?

Also the case seems unusual as they appear to be in plastic?

Milords were gold, so it isn't one of those. The case you have is from a Gillette Aristocrat I think.

Not exactly sure what Rocket it is, but it'll be a nice shaver.

Plus or minus 20g? If so, they're pretty inaccurate, but it supports the idea of it being either the aluminium Rocket or the paperclip.

it looks in pretty good nick, if you paid less than £25 quid you will have a bargain, it gives a lovely shave - i love mine, & was probably made in the mid 50's when many of us were still sperm! :) rick.

I believe I have it's sister: NO.430030

Believe it's an Arsto Jr.

A few more photos just taken.

Looking at the shaveden link it would appear closest to number 7 on the pictures.

As I say, unless your scales are seriously out-of-adjustment I doubt it's an all-brass HD; more likely to be the aluminium-handled version or paperclip, bearing in mind that it's stamped "Patent Pending" rather than an actual patent number.
