RIP Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister

Lemmy was a star. Like Chris & JP, I met him (twice, once he was seriously wired and the other time I was, err, similar but not in the same questionable way, shall we say - so I guess that really counts as either once or many times).
Good guy.
Anyway, this was referenced in on of the news sites today and I reckoned a few of you would enjoy it.

I read this great poem about Lemmy today on Facebook, by Sarah Morris Armer:

Lemmy Kilmister 1945-2015

St Peter was awakened
The hour was pretty late
Such an unholy racket
From beyond the pearly gate
A noise like roaring thunder
Rumbled right across the sky
And just beyond the pearly gates
Stood a solitary guy
He kind of looked familiar
He recognised the face
A rock star in a Stetson
With a Rickenbacker Bass
He looked St Peter in the eye
And with the Devils grin
He said" Let's just cut the bullshit....
Are you gonna let me in?"
St Peter looked him up and down
He needed time to think
So Lemmy cracked the bourbon
And poured them both a drink
" You see son" said St Peter
You had three score years and ten
You did a lot of crazy shit
That you'd probably do again
And heaven is a peaceful place
Good souls come here to rest
God has given me instructions
That I only take the best
Lemmy told him " Listen up...
And please do listen well
In the years that I had on earth
I was happy raising hell
I bedded many women
Played with acid,coke and speed
I drank the Devils liquor
And did every dirty deed
When the reaper came a knocking
And my time on earth was through
I called in on the devil first
With that one last gig to do
We drank into the early hours
Old lucifer and I
He really took a shine to me
I'm just his kind of guy
Lead us not into temptation
Ain't that what the Lord's Prayer say?
Well I flirted with the devil
Long before my dying day
I took it and I drank it
Hanging tightly to my soul
And I always cranked the amp up
When I played them rock and roll
But the devil wasn't happy
When I rocked up in his hell
He couldn't hold his liquor
And I made him quite unwell
He didn't want to party
And he couldn't take the pace
He was really quite unhappy
I could see it in his face"
He said to me...."Hey Lemmy
You arrived a little soon
You can't just roll right in
And have me dancing to your tune
I call the shots in this place
I say when and I say who
And I don't think I I can make it
Through eternity with you
Unplug that guitar from the amp
And finish up your shot
And f**k off up to heaven
Get out ... Cos thats your lot!!
Pop up and see St Peter
Tell him hell ain't got a bed
Take your Rock and Roll upstairs mate
Let them be kept awake instead"

St Peter opened up the gate
And beckoned him inside
" You've never been no angel son
God knows.... You've never tried"
But considering tonight's events
You can have a special pass
It's not everyday an Angel
Tells the devil to kiss his ass
