Parker razors?

I have a 99R, which I bought as my first DE. Can't fault the build quality, however it's a bit mild for me.

what blade are you using?i use mine with with a Astra SP , Gillette 7o'Clock ,Voshkod, polsilver SI,9 times out of ten i get an efficient smooth shave.

I lucked out and bought 7 o'clock yellows as my first blade, which I still rate as the best blade. I've used it since buying other razors and my opinion hasn't changed.

I guess YMMV.

I have a Parker 96r and love it.
I'm currently using it with Astra and/or Asco blades.

Parker is for the non pretentious shaver. Just a razor made for shaving. nothing hi faluting about them. simple as they should be.

personally just get a parker, if your worried about the build quality you can always find a really good vintage Gillette or schick DE razor.

I guess being pretentious would depend on the reasons why you bought a specific razor, I can think of a few razors that I personally would consider pretentious, though the majority I would think not,

its not pretentious to tell someone that if the build quality of the parker based on component materials is "iffy" in their personal opinion to get something vintage made of solid brass and steel.
Nothing under 100 dollars seems to be made of brass or steel, and have good shaving qualities. The 10 dollar soap scummed tech set on ebay for 5$ DOES have the quality
