If you want a cheap way to see what it’s like buy a bar of pears soap. Pretty much the same thing.

There seems to be a real lag in getting them over here at the moment. They sell out within a day or too as well. If you order anything from the states it might be worth popping one in your basket.

A possible alternative which may or may not suit some but is worth a try.
I use a lot of offerings from Dartmoor Soaps, bar soaps, solid shampoos and in the past have tried their shaving soap.
Unbeknown to me there is a multipurpose bar, the Dartmoor Explorers bar, face / head / body / shaving. Which I’d received free with an order a while ago, but had overlooked.
I thought I’d give it a go as a preshave. Now, I’m not saying it made a huge difference but it seemed to go on nicely and provided a nice surface for the cream.
The shave was comfortable and produced excellent results. The razor moved smoothly over the surface. No cuts, nicks, soreness, dryness after.
I’m going to try it for a while and see. And am going to use a range of creams and soaps. To get a better idea of whether or not it’s helpful to the shave.
Today I used Wars cream, which is a relatively cheap product but a great performer.
Have a look at Dartmoor Soaps products, some really nice stuff.
