OSMA ALUM SHAVING SOAP

Guys,

Has anyone tried the Laboratoires OSMA ALUM SHAVING SOAP.

As the name suggests it contains alum for added protection etc.

Curious how it performs both lathering and protection wise.

Bump...

That's an interesting question. I'm surprised no-one from this parish has replied to it.

I did a quick check on B&B and the consensus is that it's expensive for what it is and very tricky to get it to lather properly. One poster said he could only get it to work by rubbing the whole soap against his wet face like a shaving stick.

I'm not sure I'd want the alum within the soap itself, I'd much rather apply an alum block then rinse off afterwards.
Using a difficult soap like a shaving stick is an interesting idea though... :)idea: might need to experiment with this idea...)

Sounds odd to me also. My guess would be that the alum would make lather more difficult - isn't alum acidic and soap alkaline?

I'll try to lather up tomorrow after rubbing up with my alum block to see if it is harder to do. :)
