Went completely retro the other week and bought a bottle each of the above! Fantastic, manly smells from these great fragrances - not very long lasting though. Then my partner suggested first applying some vaseline to the shaven visage before applying the AS. And you know what? God bless her, it worked, and the smell lasted all morning! Anyone heard of this tip before, or anything similar?

Vaseline is a great barrier cream and moisturiser. I use it in Noel to keep oil off my skin I'd never thought of using to keep as from soaking in. You will be stopping the as from benefitting your skin but the Vaseline will do that insteaf

I've done this with 444 balm and aftershave. Not sure of it adding longevity. 444 has a quick fading menthol scent which, to me, doesn't seem to affect the aftershaves scent.
