I'm assuming that the "nice" part of your comment is referring to the content of the image, rather than the quality.

That is a nice looking razor.

Tom's more than brave - he's right out there on the outer limits if you ask me  The razor is a prototype for a hybrid which should eventually go on sale. I'd have one like a shot, but if it comes with a Tom Blodgett edge on it, that's a very scary prospect indeed.

How true, I had two blades that he gracefully honed and both was very sharp indeed. He knows what he´s doing and he has a long history in the sharpening world. Andy: what have you heard about this razor?

Actually, I reckon these hybrids are the coming thing. Speaking for myself, and leaving aside the little matter of that 30k Blodgett edge, this razor looks like less of a handful than a traditional kamisori. In effect it's an abbreviated western razor without scales so you have a bevel on both sides: it would be a good way to learn how to handle a Japanese razor without making the transition to the asymmetric profile at the same time. There are a few other makers coming out with small batches of razors to a similar design and they seem to be getting snapped up, so my guess is that this sort of thing will be in vogue for a while.

Some of you may be interested in Tom's website where you'll find all manner of sharp things.
