Hello, my name is Gordon and I am a recent convert to DE shaving after being a cartridge user for most of my adult life - except for a brief flirtation with electric razors (they gave the worst skin irritation I've ever experienced!).

I became really annoyed by the price of cartridges and thought I might save some money by using a DE razor. I've now got a Merkur 38 with a black handle and an EJ89L, two bristle and one badger brush and 4 different brands of razor blade though I prefer Feathers at present. I think, as so many others have found, that saving money is unlikey given the start I have made.

Anyway, great forum and I've really enjoyed reading posts on here and will continue to do so. Might even have something worth contributing at some point...

You'll have some fun, get lots of advice but you won't save any money.
You can start spending if you wish now by entering the current raffle.:)
