New to DE shaving

Good Afternoon,

Just by way of introducing myself.
I'm waiting for my new razor to arrive, an Edwin Jagger model, and am hoping to pick up some tips on how to avoid "cutting myself to ribbons".
I've over 30 years of having a beard behind me and am clean shaven for the first time since I was 19 at university. I've been using multiblade for the last month since the big day and am looking forward to giving the old razor blades a tryout.

You will be just fine with an EJ razor. Just use it with light pressure - thats the key with DE shaving.

Welcome sir. The EJ is a bit of a pussycat really, it shouldn't bite if you go slowly and with (again) light pressure. Have fun!
