military wet pack

I am interested in buying the above as a luxury travel wash bag.

But as they are expensive I wanted some opinions about them first.

I have found a couple of references on the forum that day the basic design is good and will hold what you need.

Most seem to be made from a leather or canvas outer with a different material for the pockets. Are the pockets best made from a waterproof material

What materials are the best to go for

They come in different colours. If you have not used one these before it is good way to try this type of bag out, I have one but I prefer a wash bag with one compartment.

Thanks for the reply but although it looks similar from the outside the internal layout is very different to the traditional design of a military wet pack.

But I guess a one compartment bag is more versatile

I've got the woodland leathers version (£55 @ Executive shaving) which has a leather outer & water resistant liner/pockets.

It spent 4 months on the road with me Jan-April '17 and fared very well. I took 2 soaps, a brush, a DE, a straight, aftershave splash & aftershave balm... It all fitted easily along with a mirror, styptic & blades etc.

Highly recommended.

I don't think you will be disappointed with any of these whatever price range you decide upon.

I have one of those Daines and Hathaway military packs in Chestnut,...lovely piece of kit, the quality will be there long after the price has been forgotten.

I've had one for years, goes with me on all my travels. Not sure I would pay that much nowadays.

I wish I was handy with a sewing machine I could put together something similar for next to nothing.

I even had the idea of using old army bags as the base material. The canvas would be a great material and have a genuine military connection
