Making a blade last longer

Why go to that bother, blades cost a matter of pennies.

Pennies, true enough, but the first shave with some blades can be a bit rough on the skin. I can only speak for myself but there on shaves are smoother. Sunday is blade change. No bother really.
But each to their own.

I don't bother personally because I was buying in bulk when I started for about 1p per blade and Im only about a third of the way through them after 5 (ish) years
