I'm surprised at the poll so far because windows pc's make up over 90% of computers used out there and the poll would reflect that but at the moment its mac's in the majority at the moment.

Users on a specialist forum based in the UK might not be the most representative sample of technology users out there. Especially because most of us must, obviously, have some spare cash and a fair number of us specifically purchase (and collect) prestige goods.

But sad when even Symbian beats it.

Macbook pro, but I'd buy a Windows based PC next time.

Do you run Parallels Desktop (or VMware Fusion)? If not I would suggest giving them a go, Parallels preferably. Best of both worlds and much more flexible than a regular windows laptop.

I run Win7 on Fusion, because I need it for work. And what I can say - if the guy prefers PC - let him have one, because virtual machine is not a substitute by any means. Not going to go into debate, too lazy.

My main 'PC' has been a VM on a MacBook pro for the last 4yrs, running everything this side of full on CAD or graphics, and running Illustrator/photoshop on the mac side at the same time. In some cases I've been running two VMs with one being a server OS for testing. To me that's a pretty good substitute but your experience is obviously different from mine. There's certainly a performance point that you can't hit with a VM but most users won't get near that. Not a fan of Fusion personally, it's never been snappy like Parallels when I've run it. Tried it and ended up moving back.
