Local Signs of Spring

Just in a not too serious vein, for me the first sign of springtime locally is the indefatigable tramp of oncoming Jehovah's Witnesses and Missionary Elders of the Mormon Church. During our inclement west of Scotland winters we are blessedly free of such unwanted callers, however as the evenings lighten and the rain warms they are out and about on their house calls.

What local event or practise lets you know that Spring has Sprung ?

Me being optimistic an planting out my pansys and sanding the drive out the back of the house. During the last week of nice weather.

Our ground is still frozen and we could get some snow before mid-April...so much for Spring. Perhaps when I'm able to take the winter tyres off the cars, I'll feel that Spring has sprung.

We had an inch of snow Saturday night and more is forecast for tomorrow...so much for Spring. It's a good thing I still have the winter tyres on the cars. One of these days I'll be able to get the Z4 out of storage and go cruising.:icon_razz:
