No. To my ear (and the accent isn't that strong), I would say that the "gentleman" in question is from the North East of England... Around about the Sunderland area, I would guess.

It's not a strong accent, mind. Definitely a North Eastern lilt to it, though.

Yup, could be – my placing was pretty much sticking a pin in the area and coming up with a place name…

Defo not North North East… Way too soft an accent for that. That said, I am from Doncaster and there's nary a trace of the accent in my voice (unless I swear, of course – swearing ALWAYS sounds better with a northern accent).

For most of these 'spam' calls, I find they start with 'Are you the home owner'. I have throught trial and error discovered that for those ones, informing them that you rent the property works wonders; sometimes they put down the phone quicker than me. :D
I have explained in words of one syllable to my service providers that I want it recorded that I don't want any more spam calls, or I'm likely to take my business elsewhere, and it seems to have worked.
Having leapt out of the bath before now to answer spam calls, I can totally understand where the northern bloke is coming from.....but for sure he needs to take up some sort of meditation practise.

Can't help feeling that were he able to carry out his promise (sounded more like a commitment than a threat to me) to deal with the matter physically that may well have relieved more stress than any amount of meditation or Tai Chi !

Johnny (I've got a Tru Call) O.
