Sky is the only one major satellite company here in the UK you'd know him as FOX or News Corp, I'd rather not put any money into his coffers and this is one small way of not having to suckle at Murdock's teat.

I couldn't agree more - although I went for a TV with FreesatHD built in and erected my own dish when we moved in (well enough hidden that the Sky knockers still knock - and get told to vacate the immediate vicinity quite forcefully)

If you're a radio buff and have poor DAB/FM reception, satellite does offer huge choice as well as a higher quality signal at a larger bit rate. I have a sat receiver bolted straight into an amp + speakers, I'm not recommending the above kit for that (need a receiver with a display) but it's certainly an option and of course the service is free.

My neighbour has a DAB radio on his kitchen windowsill. I don't think I'll bother buying one.

The only reason he has it on his kitchen windowsill is that's the only place he can get a signal! £50 for a radio that can't get a signal? Now dat's not an option......
