The purported Gillette "insider" at B&B years ago once wrote something that struck me as very genuine. Someone had remarked that all their DE blades were probably two or three at best & merely relabeled. The "insider" stated that that was not true and they varied blades via computer based upon buying habits for those particular geographic locations. That makes sense in today's World and P&G's money. Certain blades as we know are heavily marketed in specific areas with the Nacet in the Middle East as a good example. I have read as well that Asian beard hair, although sparser than most other races, is tougher.
I am sure he meant changing hone angles, edge hardness and probably coatings..........but that's all just conjecture/theory on my part. I am 100% sure Mopar Mark could answer this question in a New York minute, but I see he hasn't posted in a spell.
