The one thing I've learn is at the slightest feeling of a pull, twitch, snag or nick just stop that stroke and re-align. Don't carry on that stroke even if you where planning on going only 1 inch.

Thanks for all responses and sorry for the delay in my reply

With regards to pre-shave - I was showering before my shave and was pre-soaking the razor and brush in hot water. Was then actually shaving with hot water, but have since switched to cold after doing some reading here.

The past few shaves have been much better and it seems the key really is NO PRESSURE!

Getting there... Done 4 shaves now I think with that blade so will probably try a Gillette 7 o'clock I think (I have a sample pack) and see how it goes with that

I'd consider avoiding ATG in neckland until you get the pressure sorted.
